The Hourglass, Bar & Restaurant, formerly known as The Horse & Groom, situated in the heart of the village of Sculthorpe, approximately 1.5 miles from the centre of Fakenham. In 2007 it was taken over by its current owners, Andrew, Miranda and Glenn who are all local people, who learnt their trade at the Colleges of Kings Lynn and Norwich City before working in and managing various establishments in and around the Fakenham area.

It was in May 2007 that the old village pub was taken over, and subsequently closed for 5 weeks for refurbishment before reopening as The Hourglass Bar & Restaurant, catering more for the dining clientele but still welcoming those just wanting to drink. The refurbishment has given this building a new lease of life with a clean, contemporary feel which is both light and airy. The entire public area is all on one level with ample parking for 25-30 cars.
